The conference represents a reinterpretation of the Leopardi’s poem from a historical, literary and metrical perspective. Starting from the two autograph manuscripts of the text (from Visso and Naples), it will be analyzed in its history, even philological, by having regard to some recent and past critical studies (Santagata, Mengaldo, Lonardi, Blasucci, Gavazzeni).

Le XIXe siècle voit le développement de l’enquête dans tous les domaines (social, criminel, démographique, économique…) et il est aussi considéré comme le siècle de l’histoire. «Histor» signifie, en grec, «enquêteur», «témoin», ce qui doit être mis en relation avec le développement des genres du reportage (dans la presse) et du témoignage (dans le récit autobiographique).

È professoressa di Letteratura francese a Paris 3 – Sorbonne nouvelle (Parigi).
I suoi ambiti di studio sono la letteratura francese del XIX sec., in particolare il romanzo, le relazioni tra letteratura e politica, il posto della letteratura nei discorsi sociali. Ha scritto numerosi saggi dedicati a Zola, ai Goncourt, a Huysmans, a Sand.
Tra i suoi libri: La Mort d’Éros. La mésalliance dans le roman français du second XIXe siècle, SEDES, 1997; La Chair de l’idée. Poétique de l’allégorie dans Les Rougon-Macquart, Droz 2007; Portrait de l’artiste en fille de joie. La Littérature publique, CNRS, 2016.
